Job Description:

This 20 hour/week part time position supports the Family & Community Services (FACS) Department at our downtown office at 525 Washington St. This location offers a range of services including emergency financial assistance, housing, domestic violence related programs, and more. Position hours are 12:45Pm - 4:45:00pm, Monday Friday. Additional hours may be available to cover vacations.Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with building secretary to ensure daily coverage of front desk, where clients are welcomed with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Facilitate the client check in process and notify staff of client arrivals in a timely fashion.
  • Manage a high volume automated phone system.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service via open and respectful communication with a trauma informed approach.
  • Maintain files for program supervisors.
  • Complete data entry tasks in agency databases (Excel and Access platforms)
  • Provide office support such as copying, filing, word processing, etc.,
  • Manage requests for information related to agency adoptions. Research information and compile into reports in accordance with NYS law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.Skills:
    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Word applications, including Outlook.
    • Working knowledge of automated telephone system.
    • Flexibility and willingness to be helpful and learn new skills.
    • Self-motivated worker able to contribute to a team environment.Qualifications:
      • High school diploma or equivalent.Demonstrated computer and organizational skills.
