Job Description An up fitter in general terms adds after market equipment to new and used vehicles. We primarily handle police, EMS, highway department, commercial and fire type vehicles. Training is available for those who want to learn a new and exciting field supporting those who protect and serve all communities across this great State and Country. Below are some of the duties: Utilize a wiring schematic when necessary. Remove all old equipment from the existing used vehicle if reusing in the new vehicle. Assemble and install all parts into the new vehicle, and connect with the appropriate electrical connections when applicable. After assembly is done, a complete quality control check.
