working with? The Supplier Quality Engineer is a key role in the
Wabtec Sourcing & Quality organizations & is accountable for:
Achieving Supplier Quality goals for assigned supplier base &
commodity, Meeting sourcing goals across product group (Focused on
Cost, Quality, Delivery), Contributing to growth plans with
existing & new suppliers, Working in a boundary-less manner with
diverse global teams to achieve the above results. How will you
make a difference? In short, accurate & rigorous evaluation of
current and potential suppliers using multiple tools What do we
want to know about you? Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor's
degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school
diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in a Quality,
Sourcing, Manufacturing, or Engineering role). Minimum of 3 years
working as a Supplier Quality Engineer Able to travel up to 25%.
Desired Characteristics: Strong understanding of quality tools used
to manage supplier quality. Welding/Fabrication experience: Light
to heavy steel fabrication including welding. CWI (Certified
Welding Inspector) certification is a bonus. Understanding and
interpretation of engineering drawings. Knowledge of ISO, IRIS, or
other certifying bodies’ standards, quality procedures, tools, and
audit techniques Understanding manufacturing, material flow,
process change, and quality processes Direct experience
collaborating with engineering and/or manufacturing operations
Strong problem-solving and data analytics skills. Strong
interpersonal, team-work & and leadership skills. Strong spoken and
written English communications skills. What will your typical day
look like? On-time execution of New Component Introduction (PPAP)
projects. Maintain & upgrade product and process quality at
suppliers. Drive & ensure compliance to supplier facing processes
(Audits, PPAP, CARs, SDRs, etc). Understand & use tools rigorously
to mitigate risk of non-conformant product from shipping from a
supplier's facility. Monitor Defects/DMRs'/Feedback for suppliers
to identify any existing problems. Identify & qualify new products
& suppliers in the region to drive growth. Collaborate with other
functions as required to execute PPAP projects. Develop positive
relationships and work closely with other functional areas to
manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, New Product
Introductions etc. You may also be asked to perform other duties
outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will
be provided if necessary. The actual salary offered to a candidate
