APD is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer responsible for engineering HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for retail, restaurant, public infrastructure/facilities, and residential projects. Upward Mobility: Climb the ladder with ample opportunities for growth and advancement. Key Responsibilities Developing mechanical drawings to construct HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems. Performing load calculations to determine system sizes. Ensuring mechanical, plumbing, energy, and NFPA codes and specifications are implemented. Ability to adhere to deadlines and work in a fast-paced consulting environment. Performing field visits to document and verify existing equipment and systems. Construction administration duties include answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving design/coordination issues with contractors. Coordinating mechanical systems and utility design with Electrical, Architectural, Civil, and Structural disciplines. Skills Knowledge and Expertise Minimum Qualifications AS or BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school. 3 years’ experience in HVAC or Plumbing & Fire Protection design. 1 years of AutoCAD education, training, or related experience. Preferred Qualifications BS or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school. 5 years’ experience in HVAC or Plumbing & Fire Protection design.
