R&D Lab Technician for our Niagara Falls, NY R&D location.
$20.00-23.00 per hour depending on experience. Medical, dental,
vision coverage, 401K with 50% of first 6%, time off bank and other
benefits at hire. Ability for advancement.General Purpose:Provide
required support as needed to carry out synthesis experiments,
operate the R&D lab grinder, and support the analytical testing
lab under the direction of the R&D Manager and
Chemists.Essential Functions: Responsibilities that are
requirements in order to perform the job:Carry out synthesis
experiments under the direction of research chemists and R&D
Manager.Will be trained in safe lab practices for
synthesis.Responsible for testing and providing verbal or written
feedback on experiments and entering data as required.Operate the
R&D lab grinder to make phenolic resin powder samples. Employee
will be trained on safe operation of the R&D lab
grinder.Responsible for testing and providing verbal or written
feedback to chemist or R&D manager and entering data as
required.Provide support to the analytical testing lab.Will be
trained in proper technique for safe, routine, analytical testing
and preparation of laboratory solutions, such as mobile phases,
reagents, standards, and samples.Performing routine analytical
testing according to established methods and SOP's.Use a range of
techniques and analytical instrumentation to perform routine
testing.Responsible for providing verbal or written feedback to
chemist or R&D manager and entering of data as required.Keep
the lab and associated workspaces organized, clean, and free from
any known hazards.Maintain assigned testing equipment in a clean
and ready-to-use state at all times.Required to interpret a variety
of instructions furnished in written, oral, and schedule formats.
Properly collect, store, and dispose of any hazardous materials
related to lab functions.Supportive Functions:In addition to
performance of the essential functions, this position may be
required to perform a combination of supportive functions based on
business needs:Pull additional samples of materials for testing
and/or customer requests as directedTake part in an annual physical
inventory count as needed.Other projects as assigned from
time-to-time.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:The individual must
possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able
to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential

requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety
rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure
manuals.Correctly performs basic math
calculations.Education/Experience Guidelines:High school diploma or
equivalentAssociates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related
field preferred1-2 years of lab related experience
