Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract WCS Healthcare is currently seeking a Med/Surg Nurse for a contract assignment at a Prestigious Hospital in Rochester, NY. Job Function: Day Shift / Evening Shift/ Night Shift. 3x12. Prepares, administers, and documents prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, or IV routes. Reports adverse medication reactions per nursing policy. Educates patients on surgical procedures and records medical information and vital signs. Monitors, adjusts, and documents readings from specialized patient equipment. Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Current RN license for the state of New York. 2 years of acute Med/Surg RN experience required. BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association. Telemetry experience required. NIHSS certification required.
