Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty:

2x8s/3x8s and every other weekend and holiday Experience: Minimum
of 1 year as a Registered Nurse in a Long-Term Care facility
License: Current New York State RN Licensure Certifications: BLS
(AHA or RQI only) Must-Have: Long-Term Care experience,
availability for every other weekend and holiday Description: The
Registered Nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills
necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients
served on the assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate
knowledge of the principles of growth and development across the
lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the
patient's status. The RN will interpret the appropriate information
needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their
age-specific needs and provide the necessary care for adult and
geriatric patient groups. The RN will provide direct and indirect
skilled nursing care for assigned residents while following defined
policies and procedures. Maintaining a collaborative relationship
with other nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary staff is
essential. The RN must maintain an appropriate level of knowledge
and clinical expertise through continuing education and in-service
programs. The role requires the ability to provide care for
geriatric residents. Key job duties include collecting data
relevant to the resident's physical and psychosocial condition on
an ongoing basis and communicating findings to the Supervisor and
other members of the Interdisciplinary Team. The RN will contribute
to creating a developmentally age-appropriate and culturally
relevant plan of care that reflects nursing diagnoses and
interventions. The RN will involve the resident and their family,
as well as the healthcare team in this process while promoting a
healthy and safe environment. Revisions to the plan of care are
recommended after evaluating resident outcomes, indicating the need
for referrals to ensure all aspects of the resident's care are
addressed. Collaboration with the resident, family, and members of
the Interdisciplinary Team is important to assure customer
satisfaction. The RN is expected to maintain current knowledge and
competency in nursing practice and participate in mentoring and
orientation of staff. Considerations related to safety, cost, and
impact should be factored into planning in the delivery of care.
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the RN will provide
leadership in the professional practice setting. Demonstrating
knowledge and competency in nursing practice is essential.
