Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse experienced in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing. This contract position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients requiring telemetry and stepdown-level care in a fast-paced acute care setting. Key Qualifications and Experience: - Active New York State RN license (non-compact); pending licenses are not accepted - Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications - Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record charting system - Clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols - Experience with nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management - Management of cardiac drips (excluding titration) and blood product administration - Central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and isolation precautions - Telemetry and stepdown-level nursing (PCU/DOU/IMC) - Ability to manage a patient ratio of approximately 4:1 to 5:1 in adult and geriatric populations Schedule: - Four 12-hour night shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM - Contract length: 13 weeks - Weekend rotation every other weekend - Holiday availability every other holiday as needed - Floating within the nurses skillset may be required - First-time travel nurses welcome; local registered nurses within 75 miles are not eligible due to radius restrictions About the Location:This role is based in Rochester, NY, home to a vibrant community with a mix of cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities.
