Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse experienced in stepdown care to contribute to a dynamic acute care setting. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment with night shifts, providing an engaging environment for nurses skilled in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response. Qualifications & Desired Experience: - Active New York State RN license (non-compact state; pending licenses not accepted) - Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS - Proficient in telemetry and stepdown-level care including PCU, DOU, or IMC units - Skilled in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and managing emergency response teams - Experience with oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and blood product administration - Capable of managing central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, and adhering to isolation protocols - Familiarity with EPIC charting system is required - Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday if needed - Comfortable floating within skillset to various units Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex pulmonary conditions and post-surgical needs requiring stepdown care - Maintain safety and quality through constant cardiac monitoring, timely intervention, and collaboration with rapid response/code teams - Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and perform phlebotomy as needed - Document all care accurately in EPIC and comply with hospital policies and patient care standards - Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes Location:The role is based in a progressive hospital located in Webster, NY.
