Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/24/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 3x12 night shifts with every other weekend requirement • Maintain 1:4 patient ratio on days, nights, and weekends • Handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg when needed • Must have New York license in hand - no exceptions • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required • EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS • Must be willing to float to ICU and/or MS units • Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white • 16 hours of orientation provided • Pre-approved time off: two instances allowed • Must live more than 75 miles from facility • Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias • Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy with peripheral line care and management • Manage respiratory equipment including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks • Handle blood product administration and central line care/management • Manage cardiac drips without titration requirements • Care for patients requiring airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, and titrated medicated IV infusions Facility: This tertiary care hospital operates a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) serving as a critical care step-down unit dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based care. The facility features 528 total staffed beds and receives patients from various departments including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors. The unit specializes in caring for adult acute care patients requiring more specialized attention than general medical-surgical units can provide, with all patients receiving continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring.
