Laboratory Assistant- Metals Prep- Amherst NY--Temporary to HireWork Schedule: Monday to Friday from 6am to 2pm--Pay: $15/hour----About the position:--

• The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.--Job Overview:--
  • Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day's samples.
  • Stocks laboratory supplies.
  • Purging and boxing of samples.
  • Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
  • Prioritizes the order in which samples prepped based on laboratory backlogs and client commitments. Calibrates laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy.--Job Responsibilities:--
    • Performs basis preparation which may include the following methods:
    • Aliquot samples
    • Spike and trace samples
    • Prepare reagents
    • Bottle samples
    • Prepare concentrations
    • Separation
    • Sonication
    • Liquid rack set up--
      • Analyzes environmental samples to produce laboratory data.----
      • Inputs laboratory data for reporting purposes
      • Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
